How to Create Information Products That Sell Like Hotcakes

In this article I am going to share the key to creating products that sell like hotcakes online. Information products such as ebooks, audios and videos are easy to make and to promote online. Far better to create your own product than to sell affiliate products. Why? Because you get to keep all the profits and your customers build a relationship with you that will generally lead them to buy more and more expensive products and programmes from you.

The key to creating products that will sell well online is research. A product will sell well if it meets a specific and urgent need that people are willing to pay to resolve. The more painful the consequences of not solving their challenge is the more likely they are to buy and the more money they are willing to spend on getting a solution. Indeed if the problem is serious enough you will be able to charge high prices and so will only need to sell a few items so that you will not need to have such a large potential market. So you need to do your research to find out what the most pressing challenges are for your particular niche.

So how do you find out what the current challenges are for people within your niche? The simplest way is to ask them. If you already have a list of customers then you can go straight to them and ask them directly. You could say something like this. I'm about to create a new product and I really want to make it something that will help you with your biggest challenges right now in (fill in your niche). So please tell me what your top 3 challenges are right now. That could be as simple as a quick email out to your list or if you want to really get some in-depth insight then you might consider talking to them over the phone. In which case you could offer them a free consultation call to discuss their current challenges. So not only will you get the answers you need but you will be building up your reputation at the same time.

What if I don't have a list or customers already? I hear you say. Well go out and find some potential customers to ask. Find appropriate forums or blogs or Facebook groups, etc and join in the discussions and you will soon find out what people most want. Then creating a product that will sell well is just a case of listening to what they say and making sure your product answers their questions and problems.
