Advantages of Creating and Selling Audio Products

In this article I'm going to talk about the advantages of creating and selling your own audio products if you want to set up a long-term internet business in the easiest way and shortest time. Ebooks whilst still popular, especially now so many people have e-readers, usually take much longer to produce and have a lower perceived value. Videos often require more skill and equipment and generally take longer to create. Videos also have issues when it comes to hosting them on your website. So let me talk about the advantages of audios in a little more depth.

If you are creating a product from scratch then recording an audio is as fast and easy as it gets. A one hour audio takes one hour to record. That's assuming you can squash any perfectionistic tendencies you have that lead you to feeling like you have to do several re-takes before you are happy. You must always remember it is the information that is valuable and people are probably not even going to notice the odd um or ah. Indeed listeners are often more forgiving of mistakes than readers who might jump on every spelling mistake or grammar error.

You don't need any fancy equipment to record an audio and many of you may find that you already have all you need. Basically you need a microphone and a means of recording. Many computers have an inbuilt microphone or you might have one integrated with your webcam. It is important to produce a good quality audio and I would recommend investing a small amount (under £20) in an external microphone that you can plug into a USB socket. As for recording, Windows has a program called Windows Movie Maker where you can record an audio and for MAC users I believe the program is called Keynote. Another free recording program is called Audacity which you can find easily with a Google search.

As I mentioned earlier audios have a higher perceived value than ebooks. Another advantage over ebooks and videos is that audios can be listened to a wider range of situations so that your customers can make use of otherwise redundant time like driving to work to absorb your material. Another feature that your customers will appreciate is that audios stream faster on the internet than videos so there's no frustration because the recording has stopped to buffer. That's assuming they can access the video at all as it requires work or money to make sure they can be played on all the different browsers.

Ebooks and videos have their place and are useful and it's worth knowing the best way to create them. However audios really are easy and fast to create.
